Lake Hartwell borders Georgia and South Carolina on the Savannah, Seneca, and Tugaloo Rivers. It is created by Hartwell Dam, which is located on the Savannah River. It extends 45 miles up the Seneca river and 49 miles up the Tugaloo river. Lake Hartwell contains about 56,000 acres of water and has 962 miles of shoreline.
